The blurb on the back Key lime pie, carrot cake, marshmallow cupcakes, pumpkin pie, rocky roads, oat and raisin cookies, brownies, blueberry muffins and New York cheesecake - delicious recipes from London's favourite bakery.

Overview of book A selection of American-inspired recipes from one of the first 'destination' cupcake shops in London, the book is divided according to category - cupcakes, cakes, pies, brownies and bars, muffins and cookies. There aren't a huge number of recipes in each section but there are a good selection. The pages announcing the start of each chapter are pink and the book overall is quite girly, obviously targeting the female demographic.

First recipe in the book For the different types of frostings that the various cakes will need - the first 'proper' recipe after that is for vanilla cupcakes.

Quality/number of photographs Every recipe has a full-page colour photo and there are a few photo montages on other pages, with the most delicious, decadent-looking cakes.

Have I made anything from this book? Black bottom cupcakes - chocolate sponge with a dollop of cheesecake mixture baked into it, which tasted absolutely divine; hazelnut and chocolate cupcakes, which are slightly hollowed out with a spoonful of Nutella in the middle; marshmallow cupcakes, which have a spoonful of melted marshmallow in the middle and mini marshmallows in the frosting; hummingbird cake, which is like a carrot cake but contains pineapple and banana instead, and Brooklyn blackout cake which I have made a few times including for this Rocky Horror Show cake.



Overall impression in three words Decadent, delicious, divine
